Celebrating art and nature in the
Housatonic River Valley
Housatonic River Summer is a summer-long celebration of the arts, culture and nature within the Housatonic Valley. The concept of River Summer is to promote events that take place during this time within the Housatonic Valley that relate to the arts, culture and nature. All events are open to the public.
The Housatonic River Summer Fest and its promotions will be taking place in the Housatonic River watershed region from Pittsfield, MA to Southbury, CT. Events will be / are scheduled continuously from June 18 through September 18, 2006, and will take place at many different (occasionally concurrent) locations in the watershed area.
Many of the events are scheduled annual happenings,
while other events have been created especially for the River Summer
Fest. The events range in size and scope, with successful
participation ranging from a dozen attendees up to hundreds of
attendees. Included are arts related, cultural, nature related and
commercial events.
Organizations in the area have been invited to submit
their events to be listed in the Housatonic River Summer Fest
calendar of events, and well as in special promotions and on the
website: www.HousatonicRiverSummer.org .
If you would like to submit your event for inclusion
in the River Summer promotion please contact Dana Alsdorf at the
